In most cases you will find that seamless guttering is the most popular type of gutter installation system that people will now have on their homes. However, that does not mean to say that you will still not come across the odd traditional guttering system as well.

So why exactly are these types of systems preferable? Well, due to the fact that the traditional guttering systems will be linked together by lots of different sections you are always likely to get small cracks and gaps appearing, through which water can run and cause damage to your home. This situation is not likely to occur when there are no seams at all in the gutters.

Of course, having less seams in the system is usually going to make it better, but at least having two or three on any system of seamless guttering is inevitable.

The main problem that people suffer from with their gutters will be the buildup of debris and therefore if you really want to maintain the integrity of your system then it is important for you to check on them and clean them on a regular basis. The primary disadvantage that is associated with these gutter systems will be price. As mentioned, it is likely that you will have to pay a company to come and mould the gutters right there on site. This is inevitably going to lead to higher costs associated with the installation, and if you cannot afford this there can become a problem.

However, it is in fact possible for you to actually install the gutters yourself if you are willing to put in a little bit of legwork.
